What are you doing today? ( Maori )

Today for the summer learning journey we had to make a copy of a slide talking about what we are going to do today. We had to fill in a grid The question was what we are doing today? But the words in  maori so that made it a bit more challenging but luckily there was a audio and I could listen to it and write it down so do me that made me a bit easyha. Today the thing that is what I'm doing is I will be selling Awapuni School cook books !

Kei te aha koe I tenei ra ? What are you doing today ?

  1. Kia Ora Tiana,

My name is Zana and I am a blog commenter from the Summer Learning Journey.

I enjoyed this activity because I think it is important for everyone to learn and practice their Te Reo Māori. Your slide was very well done and you translated and rearranged the sentences well!

I see in the last slide that you are selling cookbooks, that sounds super fun and I hope you sell a bunch of them. Could you try and translate ‘selling awapuni cook books” into Te Reo Māori. You could ask a teacher or adult for help or try googling it on Māori dictionary.

Keep up the great work and I hope to see more of your posts over the summer.

    Ngā mihi nui,
    Zana Yates

  2. Kia ora Tiana!
I'm so excited to see you've made a start on your Summer Learning Journey! You're nearly at 50 blog posts for the year too so I'll have to get your next badge ready! Well done on all your great learning for the year. It's so wonderful that you're busy selling cookbooks because they're great ones! Perhaps you could have explained a bit more about the cookbooks in your blog post because I think your school are so amazing the way they decided how to put them all together. I really love that Mrs Torrie has a recipe in there too as she was such a longstanding staff member of your school before she came to work with us! Maybe you could google how to say cookbooks and use the previous slides to work out how to add the words you've chosen in te reo Māori? It would be so neat to know how to say that.
Keep up the great blogging and I'll see how you're getting on with it another day!
    Have a lovely summer,
    Mrs Williams
